HYDERABAD: Authorities seized a truck carrying 280 quintals of ration rice near Marrigudem in Illandu mandal, Bhadradri Kothagudem district, on Friday. The rice, meant for the Public Distribution System (PDS), was being transported illegally.
Officials identified that the consignment originated from Tekulapalli in Bhadradri district and was en route to Vijayawada. The seizure was part of ongoing efforts to prevent the illegal transportation of subsidised ration rice.
A further investigation is underway to determine those responsible and whether a larger network is involved in the operation.
