Hyderabad: Police raided an illegal hookah centre in Vatepally under Mailardevpally limits and detained 10 persons found at the premises during the operation.
Officers found Mohd Tanweer, 23, running the hookah service without valid permissions in a residential area. They detained those present for questioning and registered a case against those responsible.
Illegal hookah centre busted in Vatepally raid
During the raid, police seized hookah pots, flavoured tobacco including apple, Alfauz, and Alfakher, along with coal boxes, hookah pipes, and a mobile phone. The seized items indicated organised operations at the site.
Officials stated that such centres operate in violation of regulations. They warned that strict action would follow against those running unauthorised services.
Police also said they would continue regular enforcement drives. They aimed to curb such activities and prevent violations in residential areas.
