Hydraa resumes Kondapur demolitions over disputed 36 acres of land

Hyderabad: Hydraa authorities resumed demolition drives in Kondapur on Saturday, pulling down constructions spread across 36 acres amid heavy police deployment.

Officials said the land, located in Survey No.59, has been under dispute for more than two decades. They identified 36 acres under the possession of 12 farmers, but declared it as government property. The estimated land value stands at ₹3,600 crore.

Residents rushed to the spot and staged protests. They claimed the land has remained in their control for over 60 years. Many expressed anguish, saying they had safeguarded the land for generations only to see authorities assert ownership.
