Hyderabad: The Telangana government aimed to accelerate Hyderabad’s financial services expansion and establish the city as an international centre for fintech and global financial operations, IT and Industries Minister Duddilla Sridhar Babu said on Saturday.
The Minister outlined the government’s plans while inaugurating the Hyderabad office of Singapore-based Artha Fintech at HITEC City on November 7.
He said Telangana was strengthening its industrial and technology ecosystem to attract international companies. The government also wanted existing global businesses to expand their operations in Hyderabad.
Sridhar Babu identified digital infrastructure, advanced technology research and workforce development as key priorities for the State.
Hyderabad’s financial services expansion builds on IT sector
The Minister said Hyderabad had already established itself as a major international destination for information technology and IT-enabled services. Consequently, the government planned to use the city’s existing technology strengths to develop new opportunities in financial services.
These sectors included financial technology, digital banking and global financial services operations. He said the government was prioritising world-class digital infrastructure to support the changing requirements of the financial services industry.
Additionally, Telangana was focusing on research and development in advanced technologies to strengthen its competitiveness. The State also planned to develop a skilled workforce capable of meeting the evolving demands of financial services companies.
Hyderabad’s financial services expansion linked to Telangana Rising 2047
Sridhar Babu said the government’s Telangana Rising–2047 vision provided a broader framework for attracting international investment and encouraging technological innovation. Under the vision, Telangana sought to become a preferred destination for global companies investing in emerging technologies.
The government also aimed to create an environment that encouraged businesses to establish operations and expand their presence in the State. Moreover, the Minister said the government’s initiatives would strengthen Hyderabad’s position in the international financial services sector.
He linked Hyderabad’s financial services expansion to the State’s efforts to improve infrastructure, promote research and build a workforce suited to emerging industries. The inauguration of Artha Fintech’s Hyderabad office formed the setting for the Minister’s announcement of these priorities.
