Hyderabad: In a decisive move to prevent gang-related violence, Hyderabad Police Commissioner and Additional District Magistrate (Executive) V.C. Sajjanar, IPS, convened a special court session. This session targeted 10 rival gangs operating in the South, South East, and South West Zones of the city.
The action followed detailed reports documenting violent incidents. These incidents included murders and attempted murders committed by gangs linked to Deendar Anjuman and other rival groups in Asifnagar. According to the police, these acts were part of ongoing retaliatory clashes.
Hyderabad police targets rowdy gangs with BNSS action
In response, the Commissioner bound over 86 identified respondents under Section 126 of the Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita (BNSS), 2023. Each individual was directed to maintain peace for one year. All executed security bonds. There was a clear warning: any breach during this period would result in bond forfeiture and further legal action.
The Hyderabad Police Commissionerate stated that this preventive initiative aims to uphold public order and curb escalating gang rivalries.
