Hyderabad: The Exhibition Grounds at Nampally in Hyderabad is all set to host the annual fish prasadam distribution event that draws asthma patients from across the country. Organised by the Bathini family as part of the Mrigasira Karthe tradition, this year’s event will be held on the 8th and 9th, with the Telangana government rolling out extensive arrangements to ensure smooth conduct.
State Assembly Speaker Gaddam Prasad and Minister Ponnam Prabhakar are expected to officially inaugurate the distribution ceremony, where the Bathini brothers will administer the famed fish prasadam, believed by many to bring relief to asthma sufferers.
Every year, the event attracts not only patients from Telangana and Andhra Pradesh but also from Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, Maharashtra, Gujarat, Madhya Pradesh, Bihar, Uttar Pradesh, Odisha, Chhattisgarh, and other states. Even before the formal start of the distribution, hundreds of patients have already begun arriving at the Exhibition Grounds, officials said.
To avoid inconvenience, authorities have meticulously planned the arrangements this year. Given the expected rush, 42 separate queue lines have been set up to manage the crowd efficiently.
