Hyderabad CP warns 8 rival gangs of stern action at executive court hearing

Hyderabad: Commissioner of Police and Additional District Magistrate (Executive) C.V. Anand, IPS, on Friday held an executive court session at Kotwal House, Purani Haveli, to address escalating gang rivalries in South, South East, and South West Zones of the city.

In the presence of senior police officers, the Commissioner reviewed detailed reports from SHOs and ACPs concerning eight notorious gangs involved in a series of violent clashes, including murders and attempted murders. The rivalries span multiple police jurisdictions and involve deeply rooted personal feuds.

Key incidents examined include:

  • Mirchowk PS (South Zone): Rivalry between gangs led by Syed Abdul Khader alias Afroz and Syed Murtuza Ali Baqari following the murder of Najaf Ali.

  • Kalapathar PS (South Zone): Groups led by Mohd Asad and Mohd Khader Hussain alias Chota Ashwak, linked to the killing of Syed Faqruddin.

  • Bandlaguda PS (South East Zone): Continuing gang feud since 2018 involving killings of Kala Imran and Khadeer Khan.

  • Kanchanbagh PS (South East Zone): Violence involving groups led by Mohd Iliyas and Baba Shingtay, tied to the abduction and murder of Vishal Shingtay.

  • Santosh Nagar PS (South East Zone): Drug-related fallout between ex-allies Syed Imran alias Hanuman Imran and Syed Ateeq.

  • Mangalhat PS (South West Zone): Assault between Manmohan Singh’s group and rival Surendar Singh alias Surru.

  • Asif Nagar PS (South West Zone): Tit-for-tat killings between gangs of Syed Taher and Mohd Azam Shareef alias Ajju.

  • Golconda PS (South West Zone): Conflict over ₹2 lakh and illegal arms involving Ahmed Ali Khan alias Ashraf Ashu.

Hyderabad CP warns

All parties were heard individually. The Commissioner warned that continued violence would lead to strict measures, including externment from Hyderabad. He urged the gang members to resolve disputes peacefully through family and community elders.

He further cited provisions under Section 126 of the BNSS, 2023, allowing binding over of individuals to maintain peace if they pose a threat to public order.

Senior officers present included DCP SB Apoorva Rao, DCP South Sneha Mehra, DCP South East S. Chaitanya Kumar, and DCP South West Chandra Mohan.
