Hyderabad: Another day, another reckless ride caught on camera. A photo of a man riding a motorbike overloaded with large bundles – and a woman somehow seated between them – has gone viral. The image, snapped somewhere in Hyderabad, paints a stark picture of just how casually some commuters flout traffic safety norms.
No room on the seat. No safety gear in sight. Just a balancing act on wheels.
The photo drew public attention after TGSRTC MD VC Sajjanar posted it on his X account, warning that “one misstep can cost a life.” Despite repeated awareness drives and traffic safety campaigns, riders continue to gamble with their lives and those of others for the sake of convenience or urgency, he said.
Sajjanar urged commuters to rethink their choices. “Time saved isn’t worth the risk. A single accident could cost dearly,” he posted. His message: stop these stunts before tragedy strikes.
The backdrop: Hyderabad continues to see a spike in road accidents. Almost daily, someone’s rash driving, overloading, or basic rule-breaking turns fatal. Cops say it’s not lack of enforcement it’s lack of concern.
