Hyderabad: Heavy and sustained rainfall has brought Hussain Sagar close to full capacity, with inflows swelling the central Hyderabad lake to near-brim levels.
According to the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC), the water level reached 513.41 metres by 5 p.m. Friday, just 1.34 metres short of the Full Tank Level (FTL) of 514.75 metres.
The civic body issued a precautionary alert to residents in low-lying localities along the lake’s discharge channels, warning of possible outflows in case of continued rain.
