Hyderabad: An elderly man from Husnabad in Siddipet district complained on Friday, alleging that his government doctor son abandoned him at a bus stand while he was ill.
Sunnilla Venkanna approached the Husnabad police, stating that both his wife and son had been harassing him for some time and had ignored his health condition. He said they left him unattended at the Karimnagar bus stand, prompting him to seek police help for justice.
Father says his son abandoned him
Venkanna told police that he had sold his assets to fund his children’s medical education, but was now left neglected. He said his son is employed as a government doctor at the Chigurumamidi Primary Health Centre in Karimnagar district.
According to the complaint, the son admitted him to the government hospital in Karimnaga, but later discharged him without treatment. Venkanna alleged that when he questioned the neglect, he was dropped off at the Karimnagar bus stand instead.
Police register a case in Husnabad
He said he managed to reach Husnabad with the help of relatives. Venkanna further accused his wife and children of subjecting him to both physical and mental harassment and appealed for police protection.
Husnabad police confirmed that a case had been registered and an investigation was underway.
