HYDERABAD: A heatwave alert has been issued in Telangana as temperatures soared above 40 degrees Celsius in several districts.
On Wednesday, Lingapur in Nirmal district recorded a high of 40.7 degrees Celsius, while Falaknuma in Hyderabad registered a low of 37.1 degrees Celsius. Other districts, including Adilabad, Kumuram Bheem Asifabad, Mancherial, Nizamabad, Peddapalli, Bhadradri Kothagudem, Khammam, Jayashankar Bhupalpally, and Kamareddy, also experienced temperatures exceeding 40 degrees Celsius.
The Meteorological Department has warned that temperatures are expected to rise further between March 13 and 18. Residents are advised to avoid outdoor activities during peak daytime hours unless necessary.
