HCA staff launch indefinite strike over pending issues

Hyderabad: Employees working at the HCA have begun an indefinite strike under the banner of the HCA Staff and Employees Trade Union (HCASE).

Union representatives said the staff decided to protest to press for the resolution of several pending issues.

The employees demanded immediate payment of pending overtime (OT) dues and conveyance allowances for ground staff.

They also asked the management to withdraw the proposal to appoint an HR consultancy.

Union leaders said employees had worked with dedication even when salaries were delayed for nearly three months in the past.

However, they alleged that the management failed to respond despite repeated letters seeking a resolution of the issues.

The union demanded medical reimbursements and cashless health insurance coverage for all employees.

Staff members said many workers were struggling to support their families and had taken loans.

They added that patience had run out and the strike would continue until the HCA management addressed the demands.

The union also warned that work at the Rajiv Gandhi International Cricket Stadium would stop during the protest.

They said the association would be responsible if the strike disrupts cricket matches.
