HC issues notices in Serilingampally govt land plea

Hyderabad: The Telangana High Court has issued notices to several private parties in response to a public interest litigation filed by Congress MLAs challenging the inaction over constructions on 27.18 acres of alleged government land in Survey No. 27 of Serilingampally mandal, Ranga Reddy district.

The PIL was moved by MLAs Anirudh Reddy, Yennam Srinivas Reddy, Muralinayak, and Kuchikulla Rajesh Reddy, who questioned the allotment and encroachment of what they said was government poramboke land.

A division bench comprising Acting Chief Justice Sujoy Paul and Justice Yara Renuka heard the matter. Arguing for the petitioners, their counsel stated that the land in question was recorded as government property in the 1955–58 Kasra Pahani records under the old survey number 117/3/1.

He submitted that the land’s survey number had been altered and that the Rangareddy District Collector had issued an NOC, following which GHMC permitted private constructions on the land. Petitions had already been submitted to concerned officials on June 24 and 26, the counsel added.

After hearing the submissions, the bench issued notices to respondents Sikander Khan, Salabat Khan, Pallavi, Beverly Hills Owners Welfare Society, Sohini Builders, and DGP holder Bandi Bindulu. They were directed to file responses with supporting documents within two weeks.

The matter was adjourned for further hearing.
