Hazardous air quality grips Hyderabad as AQI touches 318

Hyderabad: Air pollution that recently disrupted New Delhi has now begun affecting other cities, with Hyderabad recording a sharp drop in air quality.

Early on Monday, February 2, the Air Quality Index (AQI) in Teachers Colony, Somajiguda, surged to 318, placing it in the hazardous category. Such readings are alarming, as pollution levels usually remain in double digits.

Experts attributed the spike to winter conditions, dense fog, and rising vehicle emissions. Pollution levels peaked between 6 am and 7 am, causing discomfort to commuters and residents.

Health professionals asked residents to stay alert until air quality improves. Authorities continue to track pollution levels across the city.
