Hyderabad: Former minister and Siddipet MLA T. Harish Rao launched a sharp attack on the Congress government on Saturday, accusing it of failing farmers amid the ongoing urea crisis. He demanded immediate action against those who assaulted a farmer for seeking fertiliser.
“Is this your so-called people’s rule slapping a farmer for asking for urea? Is this what you call Indiramma Rajyam?” Harish Rao asked, targeting Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy.
Harish Rao ridicules CM’s handling of urea shortage
The BRS leader said the Chief Minister knew only two things “carrying bags and changing words.” He recalled how the government first denied any shortage, then dismissed images of farmers in queues as fake AI-generated photos, and later claimed those in lines were BRS workers. Finally, it admitted to the crisis but blamed the BJP-led Centre and the Russia-Ukraine war.
“Farmers have understood the truth. This shortage is not because of war, but because the Congress government was unprepared,” Harish Rao said.
BRS demands apology to farmers
Harish Rao demanded strict action against those who assaulted farmers. He also said the Congress government must apologise to the farming community for failing to ensure timely supply of urea.
