Harish Rao attends Ramzan event, targets Revanth Reddy

Hyderabad: At a Ramzan programme in Bholakpur, former minister Harish Rao distributed essential kits to Muslim women and criticised Chief Minister Revanth Reddy over governance and unfulfilled promises.

The programme took place at Anjuman School under former MLC Md Saleem’s leadership. Harish Rao attended as chief guest and joined MLA Mutha Gopal and other leaders in distributing essential commodities.

He said the state had moved away from the development path set during KCR’s tenure. According to him, the government followed destructive policies. He also criticised demolition drives in Hyderabad and said authorities targeted houses of the poor.

Harish Rao raises allegations during Ramzan event

Drawing a comparison, he likened the Chief Minister’s functioning to Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath. He described the governance as “bulldozer-style.” The Congress government, he said, had not fulfilled promises despite nearly two and a half years in power.

On welfare, Harish Rao pointed to the unfulfilled promise of ₹4,000 crore for minorities. The proposed sub-plan committee, he added, remained on paper. He alleged that ministers focused on commissions rather than public issues.

Raising another issue, he questioned the disappearance of schemes like the KCR Kit. The current administration, he said, showed more scams than welfare schemes.

Referring to the previous regime, Harish Rao said KCR ensured public welfare even during crises like Covid. In contrast, he added, the present leadership had moved away from that approach.

Senior BRS leaders, including Edla Haribabu Yadav, Vallala Shyam Yadav and Rakesh Kumar, attended the programme.
