Harish Rao demands ₹25,000 per acre for flood-hit farmers

Hyderabad: Former minister and Siddipet MLA T. Harish Rao on Sunday visited flood-affected areas in Kamareddy and Yellareddy along with BRS MLA Vemula Prashanth Reddy and other party leaders. The team met distressed farmers and inspected crop losses caused by recent floods.

Harish Rao expressed anger over the delay in compensation. He said that despite a month passing since the damage, the government had provided no relief. He claimed that crops on nearly 40,000 acres were destroyed and demanded immediate compensation of ₹25,000 per acre.

BRS leaders criticise Congress over relief delay

Harish Rao accused the Congress government of betraying flood-hit farmers. “It has been a month since assurances were given, but not a single paisa has been released,” he said.

He also criticised Minister Seethakka and Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy for what he described as their lack of concern for flood-hit farmers. “Neither the Chief Minister nor the Minister has visited the affected areas or shown empathy for farmers in distress,” he said.
