Hyderabad: Senior BRS leader T. Harish Rao demanded Siddipet funds restoration of ₹1,070 crore and urged Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy to act before visiting the constituency.
In an open letter issued on Tuesday, he accused the Chief Minister of acting with vindictiveness towards Siddipet. He said the government halted development works initiated during the previous BRS regime.
Harish Rao stated that projects worth over ₹1,070 crore were progressing earlier. However, he said the government cancelled them after the change in power, which stalled development.
Moreover, he said the Siddipet funds restoration issue had left development activities frozen for more than two years.

Harish Rao said the cancellation of funds led to a complete halt in development works. He stated that the situation continued for nearly 27 months.
“The current administration had not only neglected the development of Siddipet but had also completely cancelled the funds sanctioned during the BRS government’s tenure. All development works have come to a standstill for the past 27 months due to the cancellation of these funds,” he said.
He argued that the Siddipet funds restoration demand reflected the need to revive pending projects. He maintained that the constituency suffered due to halted works.

Harish Rao also questioned the government’s role in ongoing projects. He said the palm oil factory being inaugurated by the Chief Minister was sanctioned during the previous BRS government.
He asked what new contributions the present government had made to Siddipet. He linked this to the Siddipet funds restoration demand and broader development concerns.
Furthermore, he urged the Chief Minister to restore the cancelled funds before undertaking the visit. He said such action would demonstrate commitment to development.
The remarks added to political tensions ahead of the Chief Minister’s visit to Siddipet.
