Harish Rao criticises Congress rule at Choppadandi meeting

Hyderabad: BRS leader and former minister T. Harish Rao launched strong Congress rule criticism, alleging that the Telangana government had failed to address the problems of farmers and rural communities.

He made the remarks while addressing an extended meeting of BRS workers in the Choppadandi constituency of the undivided Karimnagar district.

Harish Rao said former Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao had become a symbol of development.

However, he claimed the present administration led by Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy had not resolved public issues.

The BRS leader said the current situation reflected Congress rule criticism, describing the government’s functioning as destructive rather than developmental.

Congress rule criticism raised during BRS workers meeting

Several leaders and workers from the Congress and BJP joined the BRS during the programme.

Former ministers Gangula Kamalakar and Koppula Eshwar attended the meeting.

MLC L. Ramana, MLA Sanjay Kumar and other senior party leaders also participated.

During his visit to villages such as Malkapur and Gopalraopalli, Harish Rao interacted with local farmers.

He said farmers expressed concern about their current agricultural conditions.

According to him, many farmers said their situation had been better during the previous BRS government.

Congress rule criticism focuses on farmers and welfare schemes

Harish Rao alleged that crops on nearly 500 acres were drying due to failure to operate irrigation motors.

He said the government had not ensured proper water supply for agricultural lands.

The BRS leader also criticised delays in Rythu Bandhu payments.

He claimed that several welfare programmes introduced during the previous government were being weakened.

Harish Rao further alleged that poor families were facing house demolitions in the name of projects such as HYDRAA and Musi river development.

He said the government had also neglected welfare programmes for specific communities.

According to him, sheep distribution for Golla and Kuruma communities had slowed down.

He also said fish seed distribution for Mudiraj fishermen had not been implemented effectively.

Harish Rao said leaders of the ruling party should visit villages without police security if they believed people were satisfied with the government.

He added that farmers and citizens across Telangana were observing the government’s performance closely.

According to him, people would express their judgement at the appropriate time.
