Hanumantha Rao accuses KTR of betraying Dalits with false promises

Hyderabad: Senior Congress leader and former MLA M. Hanumantha Rao on Friday accused BRS working president K.T. Rama Rao of deceiving Dalits with false promises and failing to deliver on key commitments during the previous government’s tenure.

Rao said the BRS had pledged government jobs to every household, land distribution to Dalits, and appointment of a Dalit as Chief Minister, but none of these materialised. He claimed the double bedroom housing scheme was used as a pretext for delay and deflection.

In contrast, Rao praised current Chief Minister Revanth Reddy for allocating ₹9,000 crore towards the housing scheme, calling it a gesture of political sincerity.

He announced plans to publish a book detailing what he described as a decade of authoritarian rule by the BRS. He alleged that the party engaged in large-scale phone tapping to stoke discord within the families of public representatives and celebrities.
