Hyderabad: A habitual property offender was apprehended by the Commissioner’s Task Force, South East Zone, and Rein Bazar Police with ₹5.97 lakh in stolen cash.
The arrest was made on July 12 following a tip-off. The accused, identified as Shaik Hafeezuddin, 22, a wall painter from Shah Colony, Dabeerpura, had previously served jail time for multiple theft cases.
According to police, Hafeezuddin, who struggled with addiction and low income, targeted crowded areas for theft. On July 11, he spotted a gathering near Waheedunnisa Begum Masjid at Ganga Nagar Nala. Using a duplicate key, he opened a parked scooty’s dicky and stole a black polythene bag containing a large sum of cash.
Rein Bazar Police registered a case under Cr. No. 108/2025, Section 303(2) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita. Acting swiftly, police tracked the accused and recovered the entire stolen amount.
The operation was executed under the supervision of Inspector S. Saidababu by Sub-Inspectors Rama Rao and M. Madhu with Task Force and Rein Bazar Police personnel.
