Grand Nursery Mela draws plant lovers across Telangana

Hyderabad: The 19th edition of the Grand Nursery Mela has turned Hyderabad’s NTR Marg into a vibrant hub for garden lovers. It is attracting thousands of visitors from across Telangana and other states.

Held near IMAX and open daily from 9 AM to 9 PM until January 26, the mela features 120 stalls showcasing exotic plants, bonsai, medicinal herbs, kitchen garden varieties, and modern terrace and vertical gardening systems. Vendors from across India are participating, offering a wide selection of pots, tools, seeds, and garden décor.

Organiser Khalid Ahmed said the event aims to serve as a complete gardening solution. He noted that the mela encourages a rich horticultural exchange, bringing together diverse plant cultures from northern and southern India.

Visitors ranged from casual plant buyers to serious gardening hobbyists. They all explored ideas to green their homes, rooftops, and balconies. The exhibition has gained popularity for promoting sustainability. Moreover, it is offering hands-on exposure to urban gardening innovations.

Officials expect footfall to continue rising over the coming days as the mela provides a rare chance for city dwellers to connect with nature and pick up gardening essentials.
