Hyderabad: As the sacred Saraswati Pushkaralu entered its final stretch, Telangana Governor Jishnu Dev Varma and his wife offered prayers on Saturday at the revered Triveni Sangamam in Kaleshwaram, where the Godavari, Pranahita and the elusive Saraswati are believed to merge. The couple also performed special rituals at the Kaleshwara Mukteshwara Swamy temple, amid a swell of pilgrims from across the state.
Reflecting on the spiritual fervour, the Governor hailed the Pushkaralu as a powerful expression of Telangana’s living heritage. He commended the state government for what he called “meticulous and dignified” preparations that enabled lakhs of devotees to participate with ease and reverence.
Kaleshwaram, nestled in the Jayashankar Bhupalpally district, has been at the heart of this 12-day spiritual gathering, which began on May 15. With Sunday marking the conclusion, footfall surged sharply over the weekend.
To manage the deluge of pilgrims, Telangana State Road Transport Corporation (TSRTC) rolled out a network of special buses from various corners of the state. A dedicated app—‘Saraswati Pushkaralu 2025’—was launched to guide visitors, offering real-time updates on routes, crowd density and amenities.
