Governor accepts Kaloji VC Nandakumar Reddy’s resignation amid probe

Hyderabad: Telangana Governor Jishnu Dev Varma accepted the resignation of Dr. Nandakumar Reddy, Vice Chancellor of Kaloji Narayana Rao University of Health Sciences, on Saturday. The resignation came a day after Chief Minister Revanth Reddy ordered strict action against those responsible for irregularities at the university.

Dr. Reddy submitted his resignation to the Governor on Friday, following the CM’s directive. Government sources confirmed that the Governor cleared the resignation on Saturday. However, the state has not yet appointed an interim Vice Chancellor. According to officials, the government may announce a new in-charge VC within the next two days.

Outgoing VC denies wrongdoing, seeks fair probe

Speaking to reporters in Warangal on Saturday, Dr. Nandakumar Reddy maintained that he had done nothing wrong and welcomed any form of inquiry. “I heard that Vigilance officers came here, but no one met me. I don’t know how they prepared their report. They can even conduct forensic and vigilance investigations,” he said.

Nandakumar Reddy also reiterated his readiness to cooperate with authorities and said the allegations against him were baseless. His resignation follows growing scrutiny over alleged administrative lapses at the university. While the government has yet to release the official findings of the inquiry, the resignation is seen as a step toward administrative reform.
