Goshamahal police solve daylight theft, recover gold worth ₹9.2 lakh

Hyderabad: Goshamahal police cracked a daytime house burglary in just four days, arresting the suspect and recovering stolen gold jewellery worth ₹9.2 lakh.

The accused, 40-year-old Nagesh Goud from Chudi Bazar, was nabbed on Saturday after a swift investigation by the local crime team.

The break-in happened on May 21, when Nagesh allegedly entered the home of K. Shashidhar in Chudi Bazar and made off with gold ornaments from the bedroom. Among the stolen items were a short necklace, a long necklace, a mangalsutra, and a pair of baby earrings altogether weighing over 95 grams.

On receipt of a complaint on the next day, Goshamahal police registered a case and began investigation. Clues were gathered from CCTV footage and location data to trace the suspect’s movements. Four days later, on May 25, they tracked down Nagesh and managed to recover the entire stash of stolen gold.

The operation was led by Sub-Inspector K. Jagdishwar Rao, with support from constables N. Prashanth Kumar and Manish Yadav. It was carried out under the supervision of DCP G. Chandra Mohan (South West Zone) and ACP S. Sudarshan (Goshamahal Division).

Senior officers applauded the team SHO M. Srinivasulu and Detective Inspector D. Venkat Reddy were also part of the effort for their fast, efficient work and for managing to retrieve the stolen gold intact.
