Gomathi Electronics fire: Shop owner dies after severe burn injuries

Hyderabad: Gomathi Electronics fire claimed the life of shop owner Shivakumar Bansal, 49, on Tuesday night after he succumbed to severe burn injuries at Apollo DRDO Hospital in Kanchanbagh. Doctors said he suffered 85 per cent burns during the incident. Despite emergency care and continuous treatment, he did not recover.

Police shifted his body to Osmania General Hospital this morning for post-mortem examination. The fire broke out around midnight on Monday at Gomathi Electronics in Shalibanda. Flames spread rapidly inside the shop and left Bansal critically injured before he reached the hospital.

Police intensify investigation into Gomathi Electronics fire

Investigators inspected the shop on Tuesday and gathered material evidence from the site. Officers also questioned witnesses and nearby traders to identify the cause of the blaze. Police said they will continue the probe until they establish how the fire started and what triggered the rapid spread of flames.
