GOC TASA honours 78th NCC Day celebrations in Hyderabad

Hyderabad: The 78th NCC Day was marked with patriotic spirit at the Mehdipatnam Military Garrison in Hyderabad on Sunday. Major General Ajay Misra, General Officer Commanding of HQ Telangana and Andhra Sub Area (TASA), attended as the Chief Guest.

The NCC Directorate of Andhra Pradesh and Telangana organised the event. It featured a ceremonial parade, a salute to the GOC, cultural performances, a horse show, and tent pegging. The celebration drew serving and retired Defence personnel, NCC alumni, cadets, and dignitaries, all united in showcasing discipline and national pride.

During his speech, Major General Misra praised the NCC for grooming responsible and service-oriented youth. He commended the cadets for their commitment and recognised the corps’ vital role in building the nation’s future.

78th NCC Day Hyderabad event highlights cadet achievements

Air Commodore Narsingh Sailani, Deputy Director General of the NCC Directorate (AP & Telangana), outlined the cadets’ key achievements. He mentioned their top performance in Flag Area and cultural categories at the Republic Day Camp 2025 in New Delhi. He also noted their second-place finish at the All India Thal Sainik Camp (Girls).

The event concluded with the NCC song, followed by the National Anthem. Cadet alumni joined for a group photo, reinforcing the spirit of unity and legacy within the organisation.
