Hyderabad: A GITAM student triple gold performance marked the Telangana Chief Minister’s Cup 2025–26, with Ashritha Raju clinching three pickleball titles at the state-level finals.
Ashritha, a first-year B.Arch. student of GITAM, Deemed to be University, won gold medals in Women’s Singles, Women’s Doubles and Mixed Doubles. The finals were held at Lal Bahadur Shastri Stadium on February 20 and 21.
The tournament was organised by the Sports Authority of Telangana from January 8 to February 26, 2026. It featured several disciplines, including handball, weightlifting, powerlifting, billiards, fencing, lawn tennis and pickleball. Moreover, the competitions followed a multi-tier format.
Events began at the Gram Panchayat level, progressed through Mandal and Urban Local Body rounds, and concluded with state-level finals in Hyderabad. Therefore, athletes competed across multiple stages before reaching the final round. The GITAM student triple gold feat came at the culmination of this structure.

GITAM leadership congratulated Ashritha Raju on her achievement. Prof. D.S. Rao, Pro Vice-Chancellor, and Ambika Philip, Director–Hospitality and Campus Life, praised her discipline and sporting excellence. They encouraged her to aim for higher milestones in future competitions.
The university community expressed pride in her success. It said the GITAM student triple gold achievement reflected the institution’s focus on sportsmanship, teamwork and holistic development alongside academics.
