GHMC Mega Special Sanitation Drive gains momentum across 300 wards

Hyderabad: The Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation intensified its citywide cleanliness efforts on Saturday. The GHMC Mega Special Sanitation Drive entered its sixth day, covering more than 300 wards across Hyderabad.

As part of the GHMC Mega Special Sanitation Drive, civic teams carried out focused sanitation operations in Charminar, Chandrayangutta, Bandlaguda, Moghalpura and Chanda Nagar. Meanwhile, similar operations continued in other parts of the city to ensure uniform coverage.

GHMC Mega Special Sanitation Drive focuses on waste clearance

During the drive, GHMC deployed special teams for the daily removal of construction and demolition waste. The teams also cleared bulky garbage and garage-related dumping points. In addition, they carried out deep cleaning of roads and public spaces.

Moreover, GHMC lifted abandoned and scrap vehicles in coordination with the Traffic Police. Officials handed over the vehicles to the Police Department. This step helped ease traffic congestion and improve road safety.

To sustain cleanliness, GHMC placed dustbins at vulnerable locations. At the same time, Swachh Autos were deployed for regular door-to-door waste collection. Officials said this would prevent repeat dumping and maintain cleaner streets.

Civic officials urged residents to cooperate with the GHMC Mega Special Sanitation Drive. They asked citizens to use designated waste services and report garbage black spots promptly.
