GHMC honours women sanitation workers on International Women’s Day

Hyderabad: The Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) honoured women sanitation workers for their contribution to the city’s cleanliness on the occasion of International Women’s Day on Sunday.

The civic body recognised their services during the “Nari-Led Swachhata” programme organised under the Swachh Bharat Mission (Urban). The event took place at Jayaprakash Nagar in Yousufguda Circle.

Officials praised the dedication of the women sanitation workers who help maintain public hygiene across Hyderabad. They said the workforce plays a key role in ensuring the city remains clean, green and healthy.

According to GHMC, the sanitation system in Hyderabad relies heavily on the consistent efforts of women workers. Their daily service supports public health and strengthens the city’s cleanliness initiatives.
