Gaddar’s voice was a movement, not just music, says TPCC chief Mahesh Goud

Hyderabad: TPCC President and MLC Mahesh Kumar Goud paid tribute to revolutionary poet Gaddar on Saturday, marking his birth anniversary. He described the singer as a symbol of democratic resistance and a lifelong voice for justice.

Speaking in Hyderabad, Goud said Gaddar’s songs were more than music. They formed a movement that empowered the people with low-income and inspired many during the Telangana statehood agitation.

The TPCC chief said Gaddar gave voice to the pain and hopes of marginalised communities. “His voice carried the truth of the voiceless. Each song woke people up to injustice,” he said.

Goud stressed that Gaddar’s legacy should guide public policy. He urged leaders to reflect the poet’s ideals in governance that upholds equality and fairness.

He added that Gaddar’s work would stay in the nation’s history as proof that art can lead political change.
