Hyderabad: G Vivek Venkatswamy formally took charge as Telangana’s Minister for Labour, Employment, Training and Factories, Mines and Geology, following a ceremonial puja at his chamber on the second floor of the Secretariat.
Priests welcomed him in traditional fashion as he entered the office. Minister Nageshwar Rao, senior officials from the departments concerned, and party leaders were present to congratulate him.
Shortly after assuming office, Venkatswamy signed his first file approving a proposal to establish Advanced Technology Centres (ATCs) worth around ₹2,600 crore.
The initiative is part of the state government’s plan, already announced by Chief Minister Revanth Reddy, to upgrade all existing Industrial Training Institutes (ITIs) into ATCs. In areas without existing ITIs, new centres will be established.
