Hyderabad, January 26: Former MLC and senior journalist R. Satyanarayana passed away on Sunday morning at his residence in Sangareddy. He had been unwell for some time and breathed his last in the presence of family members.
Satyanarayana played a key role in the Telangana movement, contributing to the region’s political and social causes. He served as the BRS district president and was a member of the Telangana State Public Service Commission (TSPSC). In 2007, he was elected as the Karimnagar Graduate MLC. As part of the Telangana agitation, he resigned from his MLC position in 2008, further underlining his commitment to the cause.

Condolences poured in following the news of his demise. Siddipet MLA Harish Rao expressed shock at Satyanarayana’s passing and extended his heartfelt sympathies to the bereaved family. He noted that Satyanarayana left an indelible impression as a journalist, an MLC, and a member of TSPSC, adding that his contributions to BRS would always be remembered.
Further details regarding funeral arrangements are awaited.
