Hyderabad: A major fire broke out at a plywood and hardware shop under Kushaiguda Police Station limits on Wednesday night, causing significant property damage but no reported casualties.
According to SI Sudhakar Reddy, the incident occurred at the Sri Sai Rohit Marketing store, owned by Lakshman Kumar and located on Krishna Nagar Road in HB Colony. The shop deals in aluminium, plywood, glass, and hardware items.

Kumar had closed the shop at 8:15 p.m. and returned home. Around 8:45 p.m., he received information that flames were emerging from the store. By the time he arrived, police and fire personnel were already at the scene attempting to control the blaze.
The fire had already engulfed much of the shop, reducing several materials to ashes. Firefighters managed to bring the flames under control after intense efforts.
Police suspect an electrical short circuit as the likely cause of the fire. Though no injuries were reported, the exact value of property loss remains to be assessed. A case has been registered and further investigation is underway.
