Hyderabad: The fake certificate racket operating in Narsingi was busted by the Rajendranagar SOT, which arrested five men selling forged Class 10, Intermediate and Degree certificates. Officers raided a hideout in Narsingi and caught Mirza Akhtar Ali Baig alias Aslam, Mohammad Ajaz Ahmad, Venkat Sai, Rohit Kumar and Praveen while they were selling fake documents.
Police seized forged Class 10, Inter and Degree certificates from their possession. They also found fake certificates linked to SRM University and Bengaluru City University. Officers said the gang stored transfer certificates and bonafide certificates along with the forged education documents.
Fake certificate racket exposed in Narsingi raid
Investigators said the gang sold Class 10 certificates for ₹50,000, Intermediate certificates for ₹75,000 and Degree certificates for ₹1.20 lakh. They added that the group had been earning money for months by preparing fake documents that resembled original certificates. Reliable information led SOT teams to the spot, enabling them to track and catch the group.
Rajendranagar SOT handed the five suspects over to Narsingi Police. Officers registered a case and began the investigation.
