Dundigal police crack ₹10 lakh jewellery burglary, arrest 3 interstate thieves

Hyderabad: Dundigal police cracked the ₹10 lakh Dundigal jewellery burglary at Someshwar Jewellery in Bowrampet by arresting three interstate offenders and recovering 15 kg of silver.

The incident took place between the night of November 7 and the early hours of November 8. The accused gang rented a shutter beside the jewellery shop, broke through the adjoining wall using a crowbar, and looted the silver stock. They later transported the stolen goods to Bengaluru in a Bolero vehicle.

Following a swift investigation, the local crime team and CCS Medchal tracked down the suspects. On November 19, they arrested Chetan Prakash and Sirajuddin in Rajasthan. They apprehended the third accused, Kaluram alias Kalu Kag, on November 26 at Bahadurpally. The team recovered 3.5 kg of silver from Kaluram and retrieved the remaining property from the other two in Bengaluru.

Three more suspects in Dundigal jewellery burglary remain at large

The operation took place under the direct supervision of ACPs Ch. Shankar Reddy and Y. Nageswara Rao, with assistance from Dundigal Police Station and CCS Medchal personnel. Police are actively pursuing three more suspects who remain on the run.

To help prevent such crimes, police urged property owners to verify documents and perform background checks before renting out commercial premises.
