Hyderabad: Dharma Biksham ideal leader for freedom fighters and communist cadres, CPI National Secretary Palla Venkat Reddy said on Sunday while paying tributes on the former MP’s 104th birth anniversary.
Palla Venkat Reddy described Bommagani Dharmabhiksham as not only a party functionary but also a warrior who took part in the Indian freedom struggle and the Telangana armed struggle. He said Biksham’s life remained a source of inspiration for generations of activists.
CPI leaders garlanded Dharmabhiksham’s portrait at the party’s State office in the city. Among those present were CPI State Assistant Secretary E.T. Narasimha, State Executive Committee members Bommagani Prabhakar and Yadadri Bhuvanagiri District Secretary Damodar Reddy. Several representatives from affiliated organisations also attended the programme.

Addressing the gathering, Palla Venkat Reddy said Dharmabhiksham worked tirelessly for the upliftment of the lower classes. He noted that the veteran leader formed Geeta karmika associations at both state and national levels to organise toddy tapping workers and fight for their rights.
He added that Dharmabhiksham mentored many students and helped shape them into future leaders. According to him, the former MP believed in strengthening grassroots movements through sustained engagement.
E.T. Narasimha recalled meeting students during his law studies who were influenced by Dharmabhiksham’s speeches. He said several of them left other associations and joined AISF after hearing him. Narasimha also described him as a leader respected across party lines.
Bommagani Prabhakar termed Dharmabhiksham a multi-faceted personality and a sportsman. Damodar Reddy said his services as an MLA and Member of Parliament were unforgettable and continued to inspire party workers.
