Hyderabad: Telangana Director General of Police Shivadhar Reddy has directed senior police officials to ensure the upcoming panchayat elections are conducted peacefully. They must also be impartial across the state.
On Thursday, he addressed a video conference with police commissioners, district SPs, and station house officers from across the state. The Hyderabad Commissionerate was excluded. The focus of the briefing was to coordinate smooth election management.
The DGP instructed police chiefs to implement strong preventive measures, particularly in rural areas, to avoid disturbances during polling. He stressed that all activities must strictly follow the guidelines issued by the State Election Commission.
Reddy also reminded officers to adhere to election regulations. This was to avoid any allegations of bias and to maintain a calm and secure environment throughout the election process.
