DGP supervises security from control centre for Global Summit in Ranga Reddy

Hyderabad: Telangana Director General of Police B. Shivadher Reddy on Tuesday led a review of Global Summit security arrangements from a dedicated command and control centre in Meer Khanpet, Ranga Reddy district.

He conducted the inspection alongside Additional DGP (Law and Order) Mahesh M. Bhagwat and senior Rachakonda police officers. The summit-specific centre has been built to enable real-time surveillance and smooth coordination of police deployment.

As part of the review, police officials visited the summit venue and its surrounding areas. They monitored traffic flow, crowd movement, and vehicle control through live CCTV feeds. Over 6,000 police personnel are on the ground for the event. The DGP interacted with deployed officers to check their readiness and clarify assigned roles.

He urged every unit to remain alert and maintain close coordination throughout the summit. He also examined zone-wise postings and confirmed task distribution across teams.

The deployment includes 112 Group-1 DSP probationers assigned to various roles. Of these, 30 officers are serving as liaison officers for both Indian and foreign delegates. The rest have been deployed to manage essential operations across the summit area.

Four IPS officers recently posted to Telangana are also handling key supervisory tasks. Additionally, a command group of three Additional DGPs, five IGPs, and ten IPS officers is directly overseeing field operations and ensuring high-level monitoring on-site.
