Devarakadra road accident leaves driver dead, woman injured

Hyderabad: A Devarakadra road accident left a car driver dead and a woman seriously injured after a head-on collision between a car and a lorry in the early hours of the day, police said.

The accident occurred within Devarakadra mandal limits. According to Devarakadra police, the crash took place around 3 am near Kanakadurga Dhaba, close to the Bharat Petrol Bunk. The car was travelling from Hyderabad to Raichur. At the same time, a lorry was heading towards Hyderabad from the opposite direction.

As a result of the impact, the car was completely mangled. The driver died on the spot, police said. However, authorities did not immediately release his identity.

Police said the collision happened near the Bharat Petrol Bunk under Devarakadra mandal limits. The accident site was identified as Kanakadurga Dhaba. Officials stated that both vehicles collided head-on in the early morning hours.

Consequently, the force of the crash crushed the front portion of the car. The driver succumbed to injuries at the scene itself.

Meanwhile, a woman travelling in the same car sustained severe injuries in the Devarakadra road accident. She was shifted to the district hospital in an ambulance for treatment, police said.
