Hyderabad: Police arrested a youth and a minor girl in a mother murder Hyderabad case after they killed the girl’s mother and buried her body under their house floor.
Jawaharnagar police made the arrests in a case that surfaced months after the crime. The victim, Anju, 40, was killed on May 12, 2025, at her residence in Kowkoor.
The accused were identified as Monti Kumar Singh, 22, from Bihar, and the victim’s 17-year-old daughter. Police said they conspired to kill Anju as she opposed their relationship.

According to police, Monti stabbed Anju while the minor restrained her. The duo first hid the body under a bed.
Later, they buried the body inside the house using cement and sand. They misled relatives by claiming repair work was underway.
The crime remained hidden for months. However, it came to light after the victim’s elder daughter filed a missing complaint.
Police then exhumed the body and confirmed the murder. As a result, investigators moved quickly to trace and arrest the accused.
Mother murder Hyderabad case uncovers post-crime actions
During investigation, police found that the accused later married at Yadagirigutta temple. They continued to live together after the crime.
The minor girl has since delivered a child, police said. Meanwhile, officers recovered a knife used in the murder.
Authorities arrested both accused and produced them before a court for judicial remand. The investigation continues to examine further details.
The operation was carried out under the supervision of Deputy Commissioner of Police Ch. Sridhar, Malkajgiri Zone. Assistant Commissioner Chakrapani and Jawaharnagar SHO led the team.
The case highlighted a combination of personal conflict and premeditated violence. It also raised serious concerns over concealment of crimes within residential spaces.
