Hyderabad: Khairatabad MLA Danam Nagender said he committed no violation after Telangana Legislative Assembly Speaker Gaddam Prasad Kumar dismissed MLA disqualification petitions against him and Station Ghanpur MLA Kadiyam Srihari.
Reacting to the ruling on Wednesday, Danam said he had not done anything wrong within the Speaker’s jurisdiction.
He said Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) President K. Chandrashekar Rao never sought any explanation from him.
Danam added that the party’s disciplinary committee also did not seek any clarification.
MLA disqualification petitions dismissed by Speaker
The legislator questioned the authority of those who filed the petitions against him.
He said the party never issued a whip to him.
Danam also said he never worked against the party.
Meanwhile, BRS leaders filed the MLA disqualification petitions against Danam Nagender and Kadiyam Srihari.
They alleged that several legislators elected on the Bharat Rashtra Samithi ticket later joined the Congress party.
Altogether, party leaders filed petitions against ten BRS MLAs over alleged defections.
Earlier, the Speaker cleared eight legislators in similar petitions.
With the latest order, the Speaker dismissed the MLA disqualification petitions against Danam Nagender and Kadiyam Srihari.
