Cyberabad SHE Teams nab 54 in decoy ops, 7 held in PITA cases

Hyderabad: Cyberabad SHE Teams intensified enforcement drives and caught 54 persons during 192 decoy operations conducted across public places, police said on Saturday.

The Women and Child Safety Wing booked petty cases in 43 instances involving indecent acts. Officials counselled the remaining offenders.

In parallel, the Anti-Human Trafficking Unit carried out week-long night raids. It apprehended 14 sex workers and three transgender individuals. Four victims were rescued, and seven accused were arrested in three cases registered under the Immoral Traffic (Prevention) Act.

Police also booked a spa for operating without valid permissions and employing uncertified therapists.

Cyberabad SHE Teams expand enforcement and outreach

Family Counselling and CDEW Centres facilitated reconciliation in 28 domestic dispute cases. Officials said the initiative aimed to strengthen family support systems.

As part of preventive outreach, Cyberabad SHE Teams and the Anti-Human Trafficking Unit conducted awareness programmes across the commissionerate. They reached 3,852 participants and covered topics such as human trafficking, child marriage, cyberbullying and harassment. Emergency helplines 181, 1098, 100 and 1930 were also highlighted.

In collaboration with the Society for Cyberabad Security Council, the teams organised a Women’s Day Safety Boot Camp at CVM Solutions Pvt. Ltd., JNTU, KPHB. Around 50 women employees received training in self-defence and workplace safety.

Deputy Commissioner of Police (Women and Child Safety Wing) K Srujana said the enforcement and awareness drives would continue to ensure safer public spaces.
