CP Sajjanar hails 78-year-old athlete Ramasubbamma

Hyderabad: Hyderabad Police Commissioner V.C. Sajjanar praised 78-year-old athlete Ramasubbamma from Nellore district, calling her determination a powerful lesson for the youth.

In a post on X, Sajjanar said age affects only the body, not one’s resolve. He noted that Ramasubbamma once worked as a mid-day meal worker in a school. Today, she continues to do household work while training rigorously on the track.

Sajjanar highlighted that she has won 12 gold medals and is preparing to represent India at the international level. Her mental strength, he said, stands as a guiding example for young people.

Sajjanar urges youth to learn from her grit

Addressing youngsters directly, Sajjanar urged them to reflect on their priorities. He cautioned against falling into laziness, smartphone distractions and substance abuse.

At 78, Nellore athlete Ramasubbamma continues to chase medals with discipline and focus. In contrast, many youths struggle with commitment at a much younger age. Sajjanar called upon them to follow her example, embrace hard work and strive for excellence.

“Salaam Ramasubbamma garu. Your determination inspires everyone,” Sajjanar posted.
