Hyderabad: Constable Sandeep, posted with the Armed Reserve wing at Sangareddy Two Town police station, died by suicide near Mahbub Sagar tank bund in Sangareddy district. He allegedly shot himself with a service weapon, police said.
Originally from Kalher in Narayankhed constituency, Sandeep is believed to have taken the step due to personal reasons. The incident occurred recently and was confirmed by local police after they reached the scene.
Sangareddy SP Paritosh Pankaj stated that a detailed inquiry is underway to determine the exact cause of the suicide. He assured that all possible angles are being examined.
Mental health professionals expressed alarm at the incident, noting that five police constables have died by suicide in the past two months alone. They attributed the trend to growing psychological pressures among law enforcement personnel.
