Congress–TJS alliance to continue for upcoming local body elections, says Kodandaram

Hyderabad: Professor Kodandaram confirmed that the Congress TJS alliance will continue for the upcoming local body elections in Telangana. He clarified that the tie-up does not apply to the Jubilee Hills by-election but remains firm for local polls.

Congress TJS alliance to continue beyond by-election

Kodandaram met Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee (TPCC) chief Mahesh Kumar Goud in Hyderabad on Wednesday. The two leaders discussed the Jubilee Hills by-election and the forthcoming local elections.

After the meeting, Kodandaram told reporters that the alliance between Congress and Telangana Jana Samithi (TJS) would continue. He said he had given a list of TJS leaders likely to contest and sought Congress support for them.

Kodandaram urges recognition for Telangana activists

Kodandaram urged the Congress government to recognise Telangana movement activists. He also asked it to focus on unemployment issues and take up measures for quick resolution. The TJS chief further said he requested the TPCC leadership to act fast on coordination and seat-sharing under the alliance.
