Congress spokesperson Nizamuddin, locals urge land allotment for Muslim graveyard in Jubilee Hills

Hyderabad: Congress spokesperson Syed Nizamuddin, joined by local Muslims, on Thursday urged the Hyderabad District Collector to allot land for a Muslim graveyard in Jubilee Hills constituency.

He said the demand had become urgent since the only graveyard in the area filled up during the Covid-19 pandemic. Families now bury multiple bodies in the same grave, and the practice has caused deep distress across the community.

The representation stated that 18 bastis and four municipal divisions including Rahmathnagar, Yousufguda, Borabanda, and Vengalraonagar fall within the constituency. Residents of these areas lack proper burial space.

Nizamuddin asked the Collector to allot 2.16 acres of government land in Jubilee Hills for the graveyard. He said the move would ease pressure on families and protect the community’s right to dignity in death.
