Congress MLA flags monkey, stray dog menace in Assembly

Hyderabad: Congress leader and Dornakal MLA Ramchander Naik raised concerns over the growing monkey menace in rural areas during the Telangana Assembly session on Monday. He said monkeys were destroying key crops like tomatoes and maize in tribal hamlets and villages, causing significant losses to farmers.

He urged the government to act swiftly and control the problem, which he said was getting out of hand in many parts of his constituency.

Naik also flagged the increasing threat from stray dogs in urban areas. He said the animals were roaming in packs at night and attacking people, making public safety a serious concern. He requested action from the municipal authorities to curb the menace.

Monkey menace Assembly debate sees call for swift action

Responding to his concerns, Minister Seethakka assured the House that the issues would be considered. Speaker Gaddam Prasad also backed the call for action, stating that monkey trouble was disrupting farming even in his home district of Vikarabad. He said the government must intervene to protect farmers from losses.
