Hyderabad: A personal assistant to Alair MLA Bairla Elia was found dead by suicide at the legislator’s residence in Yadagirigutta town, Telangana, late Saturday.
The deceased, identified as Ravi, had been living in a rental portion behind the MLA’s house. Police said he was found hanging inside the residence. Initial reports suggest the MLA had scolded Ravi recently.
Ravi had been at his native village, Saidapur, for the past two days but returned unexpectedly before the incident. Locals expressed doubts over the circumstances, questioning why he would return from Saidapur only to end his life at the MLA’s residence.
Ravi and his wife had reportedly been working at the MLA’s house for several years.
His body was shifted to the government hospital in Bhongir district late at night. MLA Elia later visited the hospital to inspect the body.
