Hyderabad: Deputy Chief Minister Bhatti Vikramarka on Friday urged voters in Puducherry to support Congress–DMK alliance candidates, stating that their victory was crucial to protect democracy and uphold constitutional values.
He campaigned alongside Ponnam Prabhakar and Vaidyalingam. He addressed meetings in Manavely for Congress candidate Anantharaman and in M. Balam for candidate Lakshmikant. He asked voters to bring Congress back to power and “save Puducherry.” He added that the alliance remained committed to delivering all promised guarantees.
During the Puducherry campaign, Bhatti warned voters about what he described as misinformation by the NDA alliance. He said such claims aimed to create doubt about the feasibility of guarantees. However, he insisted that electing the Congress–DMK alliance would ensure stability and progress in the Union Territory.
Puducherry campaign highlights Telangana model claims
Moreover, Bhatti linked the Puducherry campaign to Telangana’s governance record. He said Telangana had implemented guarantees soon after Congress formed the government. He noted that decisions began from the first Cabinet meeting, reflecting administrative commitment.
He further stated that Telangana aimed for major economic milestones under its Vision Document–2047. He said the state targeted a $1 trillion economy by 2034 and $3 trillion by 2047. In addition, he cited a growth rate of 10.8 percent and said development occurred without raising taxes.
Bhatti reiterated that similar governance could be achieved in Puducherry. He said voters must support Congress–DMK candidates to replicate the Telangana model. He concluded that the alliance alone could deliver accountable and growth-oriented administration.
